Episode 4

  1. The shot of Reed and Chase in the sun has me completely teared up! You guys are so, so lucky ;)

As a scientist, my vote is for mass. Therefore, Byrd (sp?) wins at 13.5 vs Chase's 10+lbs.

  2. I have to say that watching the Chase Report (is that a silent "t" like the Colbert Report?) is rapidly becoming a highlight of the week.

Now, as to the hot issue of "which is bigger", it's really very simple to decide. Since Chase is wearing a diaper in the pictures (and therefore I can't see his tail), the only solution is to dunk them both under water and measure displacement. Now, I'm sure Chase will remember how to hold his breath upon immersion, and from what I hear cats love water, so...

    ...Eureka!

  3. Shave bird and let's see the naked dudes side by side. I suspect Chase will look larger due to Bird's reduced "mass."

  4. I tried the water displacement experiment, but made the misjudgement of using the pool rather than the tub. Forgot it was frozen. Bird has run off and worried Chase may have a bit of a headache. Guess we'll consider the majority opinion to be right.

And, yes, I know all three of you would like it if we started pronouncing "Report" with no "t". We'll have to take that under consideration...

  5. Hi- I'm with joieDevivre... that pic of reed and Chase by the window...then the ones of dad holding Chase-both cause me to tear up- good lord- you need to post warnings before showing those!

Byrd is bigger-she weighs more...let's do "Izzy or Chase" soon- Reed you can do a picnik collage...I'll send a pic.

    Love ya.

  6. I definitely vote for Byrd being bigger not only because she weighs more but clearly if stretched out, she would be longer...although maybe if you stretched Chase's arm above his head while the other pulls at his toe he'd give Byrd a run for her money. Go Team Joanna!

On another note you've successfully confused your nephew by not only naming one cat Byrd, but the other cat Trane...way to go! :)

  7. I knew my own sister would side with Joanna. The only ally I have in this argument is Bird, herself, who's trying to shed the perception that she has a bit too much junk in the trunk. However, with the kid's rapid weight gain, the discussion is going to be moot very quickly...

And, Katie, I think it's rather cool that Trane shares a name with the thing James loves most in the world, regardless of resulting confusions.
